I first met Julie Allen at the end of 2104. I had just finished multiple rounds of chemotherapy and radiation therapy to treat my aggressive lymphoma. I had lost 13kg and suffered muscle wastage making it difficult to resume my passion – golf.
Julie was great. She could really empathise with me because she had followed a familiar journey with cancer. We have much in common- similar diagnosis, similar treatment regime, same hospital, same oncologist. She was patient and set out a program that I could cope with, go at my pace but yet stretched me. I could also do the program at home.
The best news is that she succeeded with getting me back to golf. 12 months after starting with Julie I won the Friday comp with my best score in over 3 years!
